Welcome to De Fontein


De Fontein is the third Belgian Beer Café in Auckland and the 35th of its kind in the World.

The site started its life as an IGA grocery store in the early 1900's and for the past decade has spent its life as a McDonalds restaurant.De Fontein derives its name from the fountain on the beach front reserve.

It was built in 1952 by renowned Auckland business man and philanthropist Elliot. K. Davis in memory of his son.
